I’m Linda Allen, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, ACE Certified Health Coach, Certified Diabetes Educator and nutrition expert who can speak from experience and expertise on the benefits of fueling for fitness and eating for health and wellness. 

My journey to wellness picked up twenty-five years ago when I gained a lot of weight in my third pregnancy. I was hungry and I decided to eat! That I did and thoroughly enjoyed, although I wasn’t happy with how I felt or fit into my clothes as a result.


Rather than sit and settle, I decided to eat and run! This journey to being the best version of myself started with a decision to go on regular walks, which turned into the decision to run, and today I can claim 14 full marathons and numerous races. And I have a lot of fun while I’m at it! I transformed myself and my life by taking those first steps and sticking with them. Through my 30+ years counseling individuals, I realize the journey

                    I soon learned this work is even more rewarding and effective when it is interactive,

                 when I know my client’s story. What are your hopes, dreams, and goals? How can I

Realizing health coaching is an important part of nutrition counseling, I became certified as an 


ACE Certified Health Coach in 2016. Through my work as a Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach and providing nutrition education to those already diagnosed with diabetes, I went on earn to my certification as a Certified Diabetes Educator in 2018.


Through 30+ years of experience, I have discovered that some things never change:

  • It’s difficult to change our habits! Rarely does someone take what they learn and stick
    with it, without regular follow up and encouragement.

  • Most people overshoot their goals and give up out of frustration. Most want a quick
    fix, which doesn’t work in the long run.

  • You can’t exercise enough to make up for a poor diet.

  • It’s more common to eat mindlessly instead of mindfully.

  • Physical activity goes hand in hand with wellness. Unfortunately, many people don’t
    realize 30 minutes of walking daily may be all it takes to achieve a wellness benefit.

  • Diets DON’T work! Lifestyle changes do!

  • Most clients want menus and recipes.

  • Most people are looking for something simple that provides results.

  • Many people ‘beat themselves up’ for making what they consider ‘mistakes’.

  • Many people ‘eat their emotions’.

  • Unfortunately, most looking for that healthy lifestyle change give up.


I am here to provide guidance, direction, and coaching as you make your way through the maze of information overload you see online, on tv, read in magazines, or hear from your friends who have tried the latest, ‘greatest’ product or diet. I can help you learn how to eat mindfully and intuitively, without having to constantly worry whether or not something you want to eat is a ‘healthy’ choice. ‘Healthy’ may actually be learning how to eat ice cream without feelings of guilt. There is value in thoroughly enjoying what we eat.


I’ve learned so many things through my own struggles to control my weight and have no regret about the choice I made to ‘Eat and Run’. Learning to eat to nourish my body through normal activity or workouts and to move in order to find peace, fitness, and clarity in my world.


In addition to spreading healthy lifestyle awareness and running, I also enjoy biking, swimming, hiking, snowshoeing, downhill skiing, reading, camping, and spending time with my family.

Growing up on a farm/ranch in Nebraska, I often helped my mom in her garden, but little

did I know the influence she would have in my own wellness journey and career. She was

not formally educated in the field of nutrition or wellness, but I was unknowingly taking in

lessons that would shape me for years to come. Oh, how I wish I could still learn from her

and work with her in that garden again! I believe she knew years ago what scientists are

still working to discover to this day: Many of the nutrients in WHOLE foods, grown from the ground up, cannot be replicated in a pill or supplement.


My mother also set a healthy example of physical fitness. She often took long walks, which

I’m sure were partly for her mental health while raising 5 kids, but also to help control her

blood sugar as she had type 2 Diabetes.
